When Clint was a young boy in Wichita Falls he would travel to Henrietta, in Clay County, on Saturday mornings to watch Nat Fleming host his local radio show. Additionally, Fleming was the announcer of the annual Pioneer Reunion and owned The Cow Lot, a local western store that clothed ranchers and cattlemen in Northern Texas and Oklahoma. Clint’s father worked in the store and when Clint was thirteen it became the first retailer to sell his handmade belts. The Clay collection was created to represent the hard working, authentic, and colorful cowboys Clint grew up around in Northern Texas. The area’s harsh climate, frequent tornados, and constant droughts bred tough, proud individuals who never shy away from a hard day’s work.
