Washington 1806 Sterling American Bison Trophy Buckle

The American Bison stands as the largest animal of North America. Wear this sterling silver scalloped shape buckle to honor this magnificent creature and the grasslands on which it thrived.

Around the central Bison figure are four 14 Karat green gold florets, or small flowers. A ruby sits at the center of each floret.

At a workbench in our shop, we make each individual mark with a hand engraving tool to create our signature wheatgrass pattern finish. The velvety matte texture of this particular finish evokes the grasses on which the Bison, commonly known as the Buffalo, roamed.

Our Washington style buckle takes it's name from one of the counties of Texas. Washington county, in the south central part of the state, was the site of the signing of the Texas Declaration of Independence in 1836. The area's green grasses are nourished by the Brazos river and Gulf coast rains. You'll find more horses in Washington county these days than the indomitable Bison. But we honor its memory with this design.

Pair the American Plains Bison trophy buckle with our straight 1 1/2" Pebble Bison Belt and jeans for a distinguished but casual look.
